The Church of God Palabra de Vida was established in Tacoma in 1993. We belong to the Church of God Council, also known as the Mission Board or Full Gospel.
Palabra de Vida is a church that proclaims the life of Christ. We believe that God transforms lives through His Word and the power of the Holy Spirit. We believe in raising up new ministers and equipping them for the work of ministry.
Located in the port of Tacoma and near one of the nation’s largest military bases, Palabra de Vida constantly welcomes people from diverse nations. Here, you’ll find a multicultural family. People come from Mexico, Honduras, Peru, and Uruguay, as well as from the Caribbean, including the Dominican Republic, Cuba, and Puerto Rico.
Our pastor Joel served for several years in the Air Force along with his family, so they are the pastoral team that also identifies with the needs and provides support to military families.

Our Pastors
In 1993, Pastors Joel Martinez & Jaqueline Marrero started their pastoral ministry at Palabra de Vida. Recently, they pastored in Puerto Rico, their homeland, under the Autonomous Assembly of God. Their children are Jahel and Juliet, who also form a vital part of our pastoral family.
Both Pastors are accredited Ministers. They’ve unraveled in the study of the Word, Praise, and the Chaplaincy in Prisons. They have also participated in other ministries such as Evangelism and Radio Ministry.
